Clear answers to common questions from patients and families.
CIC (Completely-In-Canal) hearing aid prices in India in 2026 start from approximately ₹35,000 per ear for entry-level custom models and go up to ₹1,00,000+ per ear for premium models with Bluetooth and rechargeable options. Popular choices include the Signia Silk CIC (~₹35,000–₹80,000 per ear), Phonak Virto CIC (~₹75,000 per ear), and Resound Nexia CIC (~₹45,000 per ear). Clear Sound is an authorised dealer for all CIC brands with 0% EMI from ₹2,500/month.
A CIC (Completely-In-Canal) hearing aid is custom-moulded to fit entirely inside your ear canal, with only a small removal handle visible at the canal opening. Because it sits deep in the canal, it uses the natural shape of the outer ear to collect sound, reducing wind noise and providing a more natural listening experience. CIC aids are smaller than ITE or ITC models and are nearly invisible in daily life. They are appropriate for mild to moderate hearing loss and require a custom ear impression by an audiologist before fitting.
A CIC (Completely-In-Canal) hearing aid fits completely inside the ear canal with a small removal thread visible at the opening. An IIC (Invisible-In-Canal) hearing aid fits even deeper — sitting in the second bend of the canal — making it completely invisible to an outside observer. IIC aids are smaller and require a wider, straighter canal for placement. CIC aids are more widely suitable as they work with a broader range of ear canal sizes. CIC models may support Bluetooth in some versions; most IIC models do not due to size constraints.
CIC hearing aids are best suited for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss who want a discreet option without going fully invisible. They are a good fit for professionals who attend meetings and social events, people who wear glasses (no behind-the-ear interference), and those who prefer a natural listening experience. CIC is not recommended for severe or profound hearing loss (insufficient amplification), people with very narrow or curved ear canals, or individuals who struggle with dexterity when handling small devices.
Most traditional CIC hearing aids do not support direct Bluetooth due to their small size. However, newer premium CIC models such as the Signia Silk Charge&Go IX and select Phonak Virto models support Bluetooth connectivity via 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth Low Energy. These allow direct streaming from smartphones and TV adaptors. If Bluetooth is a priority, ask your audiologist at Clear Sound to recommend CIC models with wireless capability during your free hearing test.
Yes. CIC hearing aids are custom-made from an ear impression taken by a certified audiologist. The impression captures the exact shape of your ear canal, and the device shell is manufactured to fit precisely. This process typically takes 2–3 weeks from impression to fitting. Clear Sound manages the entire impression-to-delivery process at our clinics. The custom fit ensures all-day comfort and a secure seal for better sound quality.
Traditional CIC hearing aids use size 10 disposable zinc-air batteries that last approximately 3–5 days with regular use (8–12 hours per day). Newer rechargeable CIC models like the Signia Silk Charge&Go IX provide a full day's use on a single overnight charge. Battery life varies with streaming usage — active Bluetooth streaming reduces battery life. Clear Sound will guide you on the right battery type and provide replacement batteries at all clinic visits.
Yes. Clear Sound offers a 30-day no-obligation home trial of CIC hearing aids. An audiologist will take your ear impression, programme a trial device, and let you experience it in your real-life environments — home, office, restaurants — before committing. Available across our 15+ clinics in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and more. The hearing test and trial are completely free.
