Clear answers to common questions from patients and families.
IIC (Invisible-In-Canal) hearing aid prices in India in 2026 start from approximately ₹60,000 per ear for premium custom models. The Signia Silk IX IIC starts from around ₹60,000 per ear, Resound IIC models from ₹55,000 per ear, and Widex IIC models from ₹80,000 per ear. IIC aids are custom-moulded and sit in the second bend of the ear canal, making them the most discreet hearing aids available. Clear Sound is an authorised dealer with 0% EMI available.
An IIC (Invisible-In-Canal) hearing aid is the world's smallest custom hearing aid, designed to sit at the second bend of the ear canal — deep enough that it is completely invisible from the outside. No part of the device is visible when it is properly fitted. A thin removal thread allows the user to take it out each day. IIC aids use the natural acoustic properties of the outer ear and canal, providing a very natural, 'in-your-head' sound experience. They are appropriate for mild to moderate hearing loss in adults with sufficiently wide and straight ear canals.
An IIC (Invisible-In-Canal) sits at the second bend of the ear canal and is completely invisible — not even a removal thread is visible unless you look directly into the canal. A CIC (Completely-In-Canal) sits slightly shallower and may have a small removal thread or handle visible at the canal opening. IIC aids are smaller, more discreet, and require a wider, straighter canal. CIC aids are available for a broader range of canal shapes and may support Bluetooth in some models. Both are custom-made from ear impressions.
IIC hearing aids are suitable for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss who want the most discreet option available. To be a good candidate, you need a sufficiently wide and straight ear canal that can accommodate the deep placement — an audiologist will assess this during a canal assessment. IIC is not recommended for severe or profound hearing loss (insufficient power), very small or curved canals, people with chronic ear infections, or individuals with low dexterity who may struggle removing the device daily.
Yes — when correctly fitted by an experienced audiologist, an IIC hearing aid is completely invisible to an observer at a normal conversational distance. The device sits at the second bend of the canal with only a thin, nearly invisible monofilament thread for removal. From the outside, your ear looks completely natural. The Signia Silk IX and Widex IIC are among the most popular truly invisible options available at Clear Sound.
Most IIC hearing aids do not support direct Bluetooth because the device is too small to house the required wireless hardware. A few premium models — such as the Signia Silk Charge&Go IX — offer limited connectivity through intermediate devices. If Bluetooth streaming for calls and music is a priority, a CIC or RIC model may be more suitable. Clear Sound audiologists will help you find the right balance between discretion and connectivity based on your listening needs.
IIC hearing aids use size 10 zinc-air disposable batteries, the smallest battery in the hearing aid category. Battery life is typically 3–5 days with regular 10–12 hour daily use. Because IIC sits deep in a warm, humid canal environment, battery life can be slightly shorter than CIC or BTE models. The Signia Silk Charge&Go IX is an exception — it is a rechargeable IIC-style device providing a full day on a single charge. Clear Sound will provide a battery supply and care tips at every visit.
Yes. Clear Sound offers a no-obligation 30-day trial of IIC hearing aids. An audiologist will first assess your ear canal suitability, take an impression, and programme a trial device specifically for your hearing profile. You test it in real environments — office, home, travel — before deciding. Available at our 15+ clinics across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and more. The hearing test and ear canal assessment are completely free.
