Clear answers to common questions from patients and families.
ITC (In-The-Canal) hearing aid prices in India in 2026 range from approximately ₹35,000 per ear for entry-level custom models to ₹1,00,000+ per ear for advanced models with Bluetooth. Popular ITC models include the Signia Insio C&G AX (~₹45,000 per ear), Phonak Virto ITC (~₹65,000 per ear), and Widex ITC (~₹50,000 per ear). All are custom-made from ear impressions. Clear Sound offers authorised ITC prices with 0% EMI from ₹2,500/month.
An ITC (In-The-Canal) hearing aid is a custom-moulded device that fits partly inside the ear canal, with a small portion sitting in the lower bowl of the outer ear. It is larger than a CIC but smaller than a full ITE, striking a balance between discretion and handling ease. The outer portion provides enough surface area for volume controls and a push-button program switch. ITC aids are suitable for mild to moderate-severe hearing loss and are popular with people who want a discreet hearing aid that is still easy to insert and remove.
An ITC (In-The-Canal) hearing aid fits partly in the canal with a small portion in the lower bowl of the outer ear, making it slightly more visible than a CIC but easier to handle. A CIC (Completely-In-Canal) sits entirely within the ear canal with only a small removal thread visible. CIC is more discreet; ITC is easier to operate, more likely to support volume controls and Bluetooth, and is suitable for a wider range of ear shapes. If discretion is the top priority, choose CIC; if handling and features matter more, ITC is the better choice.
An ITC (In-The-Canal) hearing aid occupies only the lower canal and bowl portion of the outer ear — it is smaller and more discreet than an ITE. An ITE (In-The-Ear) fills the entire bowl of the outer ear and is more visible but can accommodate more features such as directional microphones, larger batteries, and stronger amplification. ITE aids are better suited for moderate to severe hearing loss and for users who need easy handling. ITC aids are better for mild to moderate loss with a preference for discretion.
Some ITC models support Bluetooth — particularly newer premium models from Signia, Phonak, and Widex. The Signia Insio Charge&Go AX supports Bluetooth for direct streaming to Android and iPhone. Phonak Virto ITC models connect via Bluetooth Classic. Bluetooth in ITC aids allows hands-free phone calls, music streaming, and remote fine-tuning through a smartphone app. Not all ITC models support wireless; ask Clear Sound to confirm Bluetooth availability for the specific model you want.
Yes. All ITC hearing aids are custom-made. A certified audiologist at Clear Sound will take an ear impression during your consultation. The impression is sent to the manufacturer who builds the device shell to your exact canal and bowl geometry. Fitting typically takes 2–3 weeks. The custom fit ensures a comfortable seal that improves sound quality, reduces feedback, and allows all-day wear without irritation.
ITC hearing aids using disposable zinc-air batteries (size 312) last approximately 5–7 days with regular 10–12 hour daily use. Bluetooth streaming reduces battery life. Rechargeable ITC models such as the Signia Insio Charge&Go AX provide a full day's use on an overnight charge, eliminating the need for battery changes. Clear Sound will provide battery guidance and a supply schedule at your fitting appointment.
Yes. Clear Sound provides a 30-day no-obligation home trial for all ITC hearing aid models. An audiologist takes your ear impression, programmes a trial device to your audiogram, and lets you live with it in your real environment before you purchase. Available at 15+ clinics across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and more. The hearing test, impression, and trial are all completely free with no purchase obligation.
